Shifts are provided by a 4-speed manual with electronic overdrive operated via a dash switch, which the commission number shows was original equipment. The 1,991cc OHV inline-four is believed original and was updated with a Big Bore kit. Restoration work included complete disassembly, a repaint, interior re-trim, and mechanical rebuilds. Imported to British Columbia from the US by 1981, the car was acquired by this owner in 1995 and maintained as a driver-quality example for a number of years. The chassis numbers quoted in this section should therefore only be taken as an approximate guide.This 1958 Triumph TR3A has covered less than 500 miles since a body-off restoration was completed personally by the current owner. The break points between TR4 seat styles depended on Standard Triumph's remaining stocks of colours in the outgoing style.
Seat cover kits and rear seat assemblies in the other colour schemes listed below are available, but they are not held in stock under normal circumstances and are available to special order. Please note that plain black and black with white piping seat cover kits are the only stocked items. For TR4s there is a choice of four popular colours. Leather was predominant on TR2s whereas by the time of the TR3As and TR4s vynide was very much to the fore.Īs is the case with trim panels, a choice of five popular colour schemes are available for TR2, TR3 and TR3A models, three of which also have the option of contrasting piping to suit more appropriately the later cars. Seats were trimmed in a choice of leather or synthetic vynide material. The many colours originally specified by the factory for seats complemented those offered for trim panels, and are detailed in the Paints & Trim Colours section in this catalogue.
